Huawei’s tri-fold smartphone to be released this year

The patent of Huawei’s smartphone with a tri-fold display has emerged. It is not yet known when Huawei will unveil its tri-fold smartphone, but the patent provides some interesting details about the design of the phone. Additionally, rumors suggest that the trifold phone might be released by the end of this year.

when folded, and the device features two different hinges. One of the most useful aspects of a tri-fold device is that the screen connected to the second hinge can fold outward, allowing the third part of the screen to be used as a

Tri-fold devices have never been introduced to the market, but the biggest challenge seems to be the design, as a device with two different hinges would contain complex parts and be quite heavy. However, in Huawei’s patent, each part of the display has a different thickness, which should reduce the weight.

Whether it will be practical or not remains unknown since no company has introduced a tri-fold smartphone yet. Although rumors are not definitive at the moment, you can expect some phone manufacturers to introduce tri-fold smartphones in 2024.
