Title: Unveiling the Upgrades of Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: A Peek into the Latest Wireless Earbuds from Google through UL Demko and Safety Korea Certifications
In our previous report, we shared with you the exciting news about Google’s plans to release an upgraded version of their highly successful Pixel Buds Pro, which was first introduced in 2022. Following the search giant’s consistent two-year release cycle for true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is now due for launch in this year. Recent developments have brought to light some key information regarding the upcoming audio device through UL Demko and Safety Korea certification websites.
Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: Two Certifications, Multiple Revelations
The UL Demko and Safety Korea certifications have provided valuable insights into the design and specifications of Google’s upcoming Pixel Buds Pro 2. The charging case of the earphones, identified by the model number GH8tQ on both certifications, has been unveiled in part through these regulatory filings.
According to UL Demko’s certification, the charging case for Pixel Buds Pro 2 houses a Li-ion battery with a capacity of 650mAh. This represents an incremental enhancement compared to the previous Pixel Buds Pro’s 620mAh battery, suggesting longer usage hours. With Google’s stated rating of 31 hours of playback time (without Active Noise Cancellation or ANC) for the Pixel Buds Pro, we can expect a considerable improvement in battery life from this new version.
Safety Korea’s certification offers another interesting detail: Chongqing VDL Electronics is named as the contract manufacturer for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Based in China, this well-known electronics manufacturing company has previously worked on various projects with Google and other prominent tech brands.
Unfortunately, neither certification provides any further information regarding the Pixel Buds Pro 2’s design, features, or price point. However, Google’s annual I/O Developer Conference is fast approaching in May, and it is speculated that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 might make its debut at this event. Alternatively, the earphones could potentially be unveiled alongside Google’s flagship Pixel smartphones in October.
Awaiting the Debut: I/O Developer Conference or October?
Google’s original Pixel Buds Pro was first introduced at the 2022 I/O Developer Conference. Given the pattern, it is reasonable to anticipate that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 might follow suit and be launched at this year’s conference in May. However, there is also a possibility that the earphones may be unveiled during Google’s annual Pixel launch event scheduled for October this year.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor developments surrounding the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and share updates on this exciting new audio device from Google. Additionally, keep an eye out for the release of the rumored Pixel Watch 3, which is expected to debut alongside the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
